Semarang, Central Java.
Semarang City is the capital of
Central Java Province, a slightly ordinary yet attractive destination for
travelers. You can enjoy Semarang both in summer and rainy season. In summer,
there are places called Lawang Sewu, and Simpang Lima. Both places are
affordable and have their own story.

Lawang Sewu for example, has the
meaning of "a thousand doors": a thousand-door dance power and was
built when Indonesia was not civilized. In 1945 there was a five-day battle in
Semarang which was finally captured by Semarang citizens, and became a
historical building. Tourists at Lawang Sewu are mostly local people, or
Indonesians themselves. The price of admission to Lawang Sewu is quite cheap,
around Rp. 10,000.

Next to Simpang Lima. Simpang Lima
is a meeting of five integrated roads hence in Bahasa called Simpang Lima. The
intersection of five itself is made in the center of the icon of Semarang which
makes it iconic.
Angkringan
Semarang
Many people who come to this place,
enjoy food at angkringan, a Javanese word for foodcourt. For the rainy season,
Semarang offers a place called Sam Poo Kong. Sam Poo Kong itself is a Chinese
place of worship, or temple.

Sam Poo Kong temple has a history
because this temple is one of the inheritance of Ceng Ho Admiral. The price of
the Sam Poo Kong temple tour is fairly cheap at Rp 8,000 and the motorcycle
parking itself is Rp 5,000. Sam Poo Kong temple tour often holds festivals,
including the Lion Dance Festival, and food culinary festival. The people of
Semarang are quite kind and have very good manners, as evidenced by the use of
soft-spoken language (suave) which has its accent that differs from the
majority of Javanese people.
In conclusion, Semarang can be your
'next to go' place as it offers interesting history, affordable prices, and
kind residents.
